France, Les Arcs Sking
france
A long-term favourite amongst skiers and boarders, Les Arcs has increased further in popularity in recent years, due to the double-decker cable car linking the ski area with La Plagne to form the Paradiski Area. Les Arcs consists of five separate villages, with Neilson accommodation being located in Arc 1800, 1950 and 2000.

Arc 1800 – The main village is in the hub of the ski area and is designed around a central area where the lifts and pistes meet, enabling easy access to the skiing and boarding. Being the larger of the villages it has a wide selection of bars and restaurants.

Arc 1950 – The latest addition to Les Arcs. Designed as a self-contained village with the emphasis on modern comforts . The village centre has a supermarket, shops and a small selection of bars and restaurants. The village is also linked by a lift that runs late into the evening that takes you the short journey up to the village of 2000m.

Arc 2000 – Offers a range of accommodation including two Neilson-run chalets in the newly built Altitude building planned for the 2005/06 season. The resort is designed to provide a ski in – ski out base with a selection of facilities including bars and restaurants in which to enjoy your evenings.

Beginners: We work with 3 superb ski and board schools that deliver very high standards of teaching. There are plenty of slopes to nurture your skills and develop new found talents. Les arcs is a great place to learn and progress, it has some exceptional ski schools and there are many blue runs which are kept in very good condition.

Intermediates:
The Paradiski area covers over 400kms of pisted area which gives an extensive range of slopes for any improving intermediate to take advantage of. One benefit of such a linked area is that you can take some great days out and visit other resorts and villages for lunch whilst improving your skills as you go.

Advanced: A huge selection of piste and off-piste makes Les Arcs a great location for advanced skiers and boarders. There is plenty of mileage to cruise and some very challenging off-piste routes to try with a mountain guide.

Snowboarding: There are terrain parks, half-pipes and some superb off-piste riding within the Paradiski area which makes any of the villages a great place to base yourselves.
