Korea gaining popularity among Arabs
FIVE years since the opening of the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) office in Dubai, the UAE and Saudi Arabia have become the two key inbound markets from the Middle East, where traditionally the largest regional arrivals were Turkey, Egypt and Iran.

Korea received 7.8 million tourists in 2009, an increase of 13.8 per cent over the previous year.  Arrivals from the Middle East were estimated at around 69,000 with Gulf visitors recording a remarkable growth during the summer months.
Visitor numbers continue to grow in Thailand
THE number of foreign tourists visiting Thailand throughout this year is expected to rise by 10 per cent to at least 15.5 million, earning the country Bt536 billion ($17 billion) in revenue, according to the Kasikorn Reseach Center.

The Middle East will be a major contributor to this with arrivals to September 2010 at 339,834 an increase of 9.48 per cent from the GCC and Levant countries.

Dubai rated top-three airport
DUBAI International has been voted among the three favourite airports in the world by frequent travellers.

The poll of members of Priority Pass, the world’s leading independent airport lounge programme, covered more than  9,000 frequent flyers from 150 different countries, asking them to vote for their favourite airport in the world.

Dubai was ranked third behind Singapore Changi and Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok and ahead of all airports in Europe and the Americas, Copenhagen in Denmark and Amsterdam Schiphol came in fourth and fifth.

KLM Launches double daily Scheduled to Aalborg, Denmark
 
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will launch double daily service to Aalborg in Denmark on commencement of its summer schedule on 27 March 2011. After Billund and Copenhagen, Aalborg will be KLM’s third destination in Denmark.
