Compromising over 17,000 islands, Indonesia is the world's largest archipelago and home for at least 235 million people. The vast Indonesian archipelago spans 5,120 km across the equator, positioned between the Asian and Australian continents. Four-fifths of the area is sea with the major islands of Sumatera, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua. The 300 ethnic groups that exist harmoniously give birth to a potpourri of cultures and fascinating people. Indonesia's landscape is greatly varied. Java and Bali have the most fertile islands and rice fields are concentrated in these two regions, whereas Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua are still largely covered with tropical rainforest. Open savannah and grassland characterize Nusa Tenggar. Rainy Indonesia's tropical climate and unique geographical character provide shelter for a myriad of flora and fauna. Located among ancient trading routes and rich with botanical resources, these remote islands quickly became a global interest. The clear seas, amazing surf breaks and beautiful beaches conspire with living volcanoes and virgin jungle to make this nation a tropical paradise. Individual cultures and traditional practices live side by side with romantic getaways and some of the world's best hotels, spas, and golf courses. It is truly an incredible destination to go and explore.

Langkawi’s beaches are simply some of Malaysia’s best. From the sandy bays to the sweeping coastlines, the island’s beaches are renowned among locals, beach-bummers and revellers from across the world. Here are some of the more popular ones.
Pantai Cenang
The most popular beach in Langkawi is carpeted by fine, white grains of sand that doesn’t stick to you – this is the hallmark of a good beach. Delightful coconut trees and elegant casuarinas line the 2 km(1.2 miles) stretch of sand with resorts and chalets mushrooming in between.
Pantai Tengah
Pantai Tengah is separated from Cenang Beach by a small cape retains the same quality of sand with an extra degree of quietness. You can rent boats to visit near-by islands or paddle around the shore in canoes and catamarans.
Pantai Kok
A beautiful sweeping bay, Pantai Kok may be relatively far, but the pay-off is ultimate seclusion in a beautiful, serene beach. Limestone hills with mysterious caves can be explored here with the help of a guide.
Tanjung Rhu
Tanjung Rhu, located in the north, is also known as the ‘Casuarina Beach’ for its abundance of Casuarina trees rather than the usual palms and coconuts. Tanjung Rhu is sheltered by the curve of the bay while its water are shallow and warm. Life here is low, relaxed and soothing, perfect for a therapeutic getaway. During the low tide, it is also possible to walk across a sandbank to some nearby islands.
Datai Bay
Hidden by a tropical rainforest, the Datai Bay offers an exclusive retreat for the rich and famous. Some of the Malaysia’s most expensive resorts are located here. The secluded beach in the bay offers gorgeous sights, including a view of Thailand’s coast-line on a clear day.
Burau Bay
This stunning beach line with rocky outcrops is located at the West Coast of Langkawi. Several world- class hotels operated in this area which offers a peaceful and tranquil environment for relaxation and quiet meditation. The near-by Burau island is also a roosting place for migratory birds – a treasure trove for bird-watchers.
Pantai Pasir Hitam
As the name means ‘Black Sand’ this is an unusual beach with a strange colouration. The sand is mixed in white and black shades, giving the illusion of pollution. On the contrary, the rich tin and mineral deposit (iron ore) in the area wash up on the shore constantly, creating that false notion.
We have various Beach getaway programs. For more details contact Mr. Mano on 422 7315 or email to mannai.holidays@mannai.com.qa |
